Keel laying ceremony of Aframax tanker was carried out at Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex. The vessel was named after the first president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
During the official ceremony Sergei Tseluiko , Managing Director of Zvezda SSK, and Oleg Kozhemyako , governor of Primorsky Krai, attached memorable inset nameplate to the keel section of the future tanker.
There are in total12 Aframax type tankers in Zvezda SSK portfolio. At the moment 5 tankers are under construction at the shipyard. The first-in-class vessel was launched in May 2020 and is undergoing mooring trials now.
Aframax tankers with the 114 000 tons deadweight, 250 m length, 44 m beam moulded will be the first vessels of such type built in Russia. They are equipped with the most advanced automation system of class A. “Green” Aframax tankers are designed for crude oil transportation in the unrestricted navigation area due to the power plants that can operate pollution-free fuel- liquified natural gas in accordance with high ecological standards.
Cutting-edge equipment of Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex allows to build these technologically complcated large-range vessels. High-precision methods of steel marking, welding and cutting, including laser technologies and 3 D modelling are applied at Zvezda.
Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex is being created by the group of companies headed by PJSC NK Rosneft under the authority of the president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. At the moment shipyard portfolio comprises 39 vessel and 59 vessels including optional ones. The anchor customer is Rosneft company that has placed an order for construction of 28 vessels at the shipyard. Zvezda portfolio will include vessels with the deadweight of up to 350 000 t, components of offshore platforms, ice class vessels, commercial vessels for cargo transportation, special vessels and other types of marine facilities of any complexity, characteristics and purpose including facilities that have never been fabricated in Russia before due to the absence of the required launching and hudraulic facilities.
Today there is the 80th anniversary of the president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev who has made a great contribution to the development of friendly cooperative relations between Russia and Kazakhstan.
