The first Russian Aframax-type tanker, «Vladimir Monomakh», which was launched from «SSK «Zvezda» slipway on 12th May, is ready to start sea trials. These include checking the reliability and power plants operation, navigation equipment and system of marine equipment, as well as handling, floating stability and other functions.
More than 300 tons of high environmentally fuel of DMF type were delivered to «Vladimir Monomakh» tanker for running and mooring tests. Its sulfur content doesn`t exceed 0.5%, which fully meets the requirements of the International Convention for the prevention of pollution from vessels (MARPOL). The fuel was produced at Komsomolsk oil refinery of «Rosneft». Vessel bunkering of the same class was performed by «Rosneft Bunker» for the first time. The process of tanker refilling was carried out in compliance with all rules of marine and environmental safety.
«Vladimir Monomakh» is a new generation tanker, which is designed to transport oil in unlimited region of navigation. The vessel is designed with compliance of high ecological safety standards. The main and auxiliary power plants can operate on both traditional and pollution-safe fuel – liquid natural gas, which meets the new world ecological standards. Aframax-type tanker is called «green» for high level of safety.
The vessel length is 250 meters, the width is 44 meters, the deadweight is 114 thousand tons, the speed is 14,6 knots, the ice class – ICE-1A. Totally, order portfolio of «SSK «Zvezda» has 12 Aframax-type tankers. Nowadays, 4 vessels of them are under construction at the shipyard.
